Injector Dynamics Injector Dynamics

The Injector Dynamics group performs fundamental research into the stability of jets, wakes, flames and thermo-acoustic systems. The group applies this research to industrial situations, such as the combustion chambers in aircraft engines and ground-based gas turbines.

AIM Network AIM Network

The Advanced Instability Methods (AIM) Network, funded by EPSRC, has been set up in order to apply the techniques of non-modal stability analysis to industrial problems.

AIM Network Institute for Aviation and the Environment

Flying boosts the economy and broadens horizons but damages the environment. The Institute for Aviation and the Environment is a cross-disciplinary group of atmospheric scientists, meteorologists, engineers, economists and transport modelers with links to policy makers and industry. By examining the interactions between economics, demand for aviation, technological change and environmental impact, it aims to inform policy makers about how to manage the environmental impact of aviation without causing unacceptable social and economic impacts.
